Lead Electrical Engineer (HGA-R)
Position Summary & Duties:
This Senior Electrical Engineer position is for a direct-hire position working for HGA in Ruston, LA. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESoEngineering required for detailed design of Capital Cost Estimates, One-Line Diagrams, Motor Elementary Diagrams, Conduit & Cable Schedules, Grounding Plans & Details, Power/Control Plans & Details, Hazardous Area Classification, Heat Trace, Lighting, etc.oPerform calculations for Load Flow, Short Circuit, Protective Device Coordination, Arc Flash, Voltage Drop, Lighting, Grounding, Heat Trace, Conduit Sizing, Cable Tray Sizing, etc.oPrepare specifications for Switchgear, Motor Control Centers, Transformers, Generators, UPS Systems, etc.oAssign work to available resources or coordinate assignments through other Department Group Leads and Department Manager.oAttend staff meetings with Department Manager to discuss manpower planning, resource availability, as well as status of current assignments/projects.oAttend weekly project meetings with Client, as well as Design Review meetings which may require travel to Client offices and/or project locationoWork with necessary managers/peers to discuss project commitments and resolve manpower conflicts for projects assigned.oResponsible for ensuring Forecast and Manpower updates are completed for projects assigned in a timely fashionoResponsible for ensuring schedules are met for projects assigned oMay have to manage multiple projects simultaneouslyoWork with Team Lead to manage project costs.oResponsible for technical accuracy and quality of deliverables for projects assigned. Ensure Company's Checking Policy is adhered to.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE oBS Degree or higher in Respective Field from ABET accredited programoMinimum of 7-10 years of experienceoExperience as consulting engineer in the pulp/paper, oil/gas, hydrocarbon, or refinery industries is strongly preferredoExperience using software such as ETAP, SKM, Visual Lighting Design and/or TraceCalc Pro is strongly preferredoDemonstrated ability to manage time and resources efficientlyoKnowledge of Engineering design principles and practices as spelled out in codes and standardsoA high degree of leadership skills and communication skillsoRegistration as a Professional Engineer, strongly preferredoNCEES Record (Model Law Engineer), strongly preferredoLocal candidates or candidates with ties to Northern Louisiana are preferredEqual Opportunity Employer/Veterans/Disabled #LI-PW1 Recommended Skills Calculations Communication Coordinating Etap Electric Arc Engineering Design Process Apply to this job.
